Director of Outdoor Recreation stops by area


Mary Monroe Brown, Director of the new state Office of Outdoor Recreation, speaks with Cross Plains Village and other local leaders at Festge County Park during a tour of Northwest Dane County communities Tuesday, August 31. The new office within the Department of Tourism was created to serve as a statewide hub for making connections between local businesses and economic development and the growing outdoor recreation economy statewide and nationally. In addition to touring the proposed regional multi-use recreation trail corridor from Middleton to the Wisconsin River, her visit, hosted by Gateway to The Driftless, also included informational meetings with local leaders in Black Earth and Mazomanie.
