Sauk Prairie Optimist Club names middle level leader


Jake Buckles is the Sauk Prairie Optimist Club’s Middle Level Leader for October. He is an eighth grader and the son of Joseph Buckles and Jennifer Buckles. He was honored at the Optimist meeting October 20. Jake was nominated by the Physical Education department. Mr. Fester, his physical education teacher, shared “Even in seventh grade, Jake struck me as a young man with a lot of wisdom. He leads by example and does the right thing. It’s encouraging to see that some of his peers respect that and follow his leadership.” At the Middle School, Jake is involved in basketball, track and is a mentor. He also enjoys playing football, reading, hunting, fishing and camping. In the future, Jake dreams of attending UW-Madison and participating in a college athletic program. Jake hopes to pursue a career as a sports writer.
