Be Kind SP33 donates to Sauk Prairie School District to fund mental health program

The “Be Kind SP 33” group and the Sawyer Martin family presented this check to the Sauk Prairie School District for the new “Sources of Strength” program at the middle and high schools. This is the first of three annual donations planned to fund the program. Sources of Strength harnesses the power of peer-to-peer social networks to build healthy norms and culture and provide support to students experiencing struggles with mental health or substance abuse. Trainings for our staff and students will take place in early December. Look for an in-depth article on “Be Kind” and the Promise Parker movement in a future issue of the Star News.
