Grand Avenue Prediction Run another success

Grand Avenue Prediction Run another success

Every year, Grand Avenue Elementary holds its Prediction run—formally known as The Great Grand Avenue Cross Country Halloween Prediction Run. Surprisingly, it is not a race! Each runner predicts how long it will take him or her to complete the course. Forty-five years ago, with Dr. John McAuliffe’s help, a plan was developed for a physical fitness and wellness activity. Training is done during each student’s recess using t5he. run/walk course. Every Grand Avenue student can participate. Awards include shirts for the two boys and two girls in each classroom who come closest to their predicted time. Benefits include increased health, pride in their accomplishments, and building community. The Prediction Run was held on October 26th at Grand Avenue and the award ceremony took place on Monday, October 31st.
