Schlimgen's stepping down


Sauk Prairie girls volleyball coach Amy Schlimgen resigned last week so she could have more time to see her daughter, Alia, play college volleyball. In four years with the Eagles, Amy Schlimgen led the Eagles to two state tournaments, including a second place finish at state in 2002. For more on Schlimgen’s resignation, see sports on page 11. For five months, Amy Schlimgen went back and forth, contemplating her next move.

The decision process was agonizing, excruciating.

In the end, though, family always comes first. So Schlimgen resigned as Sauk Prairie’s girls volleyball coach last week.
