Veterans Day honors in Sauk Prairie

Sauk Prairie Veterans of Foreign Wars Lachmund-Cramer Post 7694 and Sauk City American Legion Kuoni-Reuter Post 167 held a Veterans Day ceremony Saturday morning at the Memorial in Sauk City in front of Riverfront Park. At 11:00 a.m. there was an observance of a“moment of silence to commemorate the time that ended the hostilities of World War I, then called the Great War. The seven members of the Honor Guard fired in unison a repetition of three rounds of blank cartridges symbolizing a 21 gun military rites salute. The ceremony concluded with the playing of “Taps.” Photo by Joe Block
