Heights boys track team 10th at Deerfield

The Wisconsin Heights boys track and field team finished in 10th place at the 18-team Deerfield Classic last Friday. The Vanguards’ girls finished in 13th place. Belleville won the boys title with 87 points, while Heights finished with 31 points. Deerfield was the girls’ champion with 109 points, while the Vanguards’ had 30 points. Here’s a list of Heights’ top-10 finishes:   BOYS • The Vanguards’ 800-meter relay team of Drew Jacobus, Keevon Owen, Evann Cribbs and Cody Blicharz was first. • John Reader was third in the shot put. • Trevor Baryenbruch was fourth in the 3,200-meter run. • Keevon Owen was fifth in the triple jump. • Kirk Caminiti was sixth in the 1,600-meter run. • Drew Jacobus was seventh in the 300-meter hurdles. • Cody Blicharz was ninth in the 200-meter dash.   GIRLS • Izabel Durst won the 400-meter dash. • Bryn Meyer was third in the long jump, third in the 100-meter dash and fourth in the 200-meter dash. • Jalen Kittleson was fifth in the high jump. • Heights’ 1,600-meter relay team of Jocelyn Henn, Anya Gresch, Izabel Durst and Bryn Meyer was 10th.  • The Vanguards’ 3,200-meter relay team of Anya Gresch, Tirzah Caminiti, Nuria Lopez Aranguren and Izabel Durst was 10th. • Allie Beuthin was 10th in the discus.
