Sauk Prairie Twins top Reedsburg, Cazenovia

Sauk Prairie’s Home Talent League team notched a pair of wins last week.
The Twins defeated Reedsburg, 12-2, on Memorial Day. Sauk Prairie then toppled Cazenovia, 8-3, on Sunday.
Sauk Prairie is now 3-0 and tied for first place in the Northern Section with Cross Plains (3-0).
“We have put together a few good wins in a row,” Sauk Prairie manager Lucas Koenig said. “We have an exciting team that shows depth and strength throughout.”
Sam Koenig earned the win in relief for Sauk Prairie against Cazenovia. The Twins right hander allowed no hits and no runs over 4 1/3 innings, striking out five and walking none.
Connor Leister started on the hill for Sauk Prairie. Leister surrendered seven hits and three runs over 4 2/3 innings, striking out four and walking two.
The Twins accumulated 14 hits in the game.
Mike Jordahl homered and drove in three runs, while Quinn Baier went 3-for-5 from the leadoff spot. Sam Koenig, Elliot Dederich and Spencer Alisch each collected two hits for Sauk Prairie, as well.
Benjamin Lenerz also drew two of Sauk Prairie’s six walks. The Twins were also stellar in the field and didn’t commit an error.
• New addition: The Twins recently added catcher Adam Juran, who just completed his senior year at Western Illinois.
“Adam ended his career there in the top-10 of many of their career hitting statistics,” Lucas Koenig said.
• Night League: The Twins defeated Mazomanie, 6-1, on May 30.
• On deck: Sauk Prairie will host Cross Plains Sunday at 1 p.m.
