SP CAN Read ends with panel on Resources for Mental Health concerns


The George Culver Community Library community room was the scene of the culminating event of Sauk Prairie CommUNITY Acceptance Now (SP CAN) 2024 Community Read. This year the topic was Adult Mental Health. Two book discussions of Matt Haig’s novel ‘Midnight Library’, a film screening of ‘The Hours’, a panel discussion on Signs of Suicide and the final panel on Resources for Mental Health Concerns were held. Panel participants on the final panel on Monday, October 28 were, from left: Travis Hilliard and Kristin Hinze of the Sauk Prairie School District’s cross agency team; Anne Moran of Sauk Prairie Healthcare; Christy Updike of Farmer’s Angels and Greg DeZell of the Psychology Clinic listen as Kylee Bear, George Culver Community Library Director--outside of picture--asks the panel questions. The SP CAN board has started working on the Community Read for 2025. The topic will focus on Combating Loneliness and Isolation in our community.
