Sauk City denies zoning change

The Sauk City village board voted 4-3 to deny a rezoning application for a parcel that would have moved from single family to multi-family at their April 25 meeting. The motion was to deny the rezoning, so a yes vote is to deny the rezone.

Prairie du Sac honors Cheryl Sherman

The Village of Prairie du Sac has a new board member, with former Sauk Prairie School Board President appointed by the board at their April 25th meeting. There was a vacancy in the wake of the election, which saw long-time Village President Cheryl Sherman stepping down and board member Andrew Strathman taking the helm.

Mazo Board hears updates on Bluff park project

The Mazomanie Board and new member Latrisha Eilers heard an update from trustee Natalie Beil about the Bluff Park project that has been underway for nearly a year at their April 25th meeting.

Family Dollar coming to Mazomanie

A Family Dollar/Dollar Tree will be coming to Mazomanie, joining Dollar General as another grocery and retail outlet. The company is purchasing a one acre lot along Highway 14. They are currently asking WisDOT for a direct entrance onto Highway 14. The board granted the conditional use permit for the property.

Prairie du Sac approves more mountain bike amenities in Veterans Memorial Park

The April 11th Village of Prairie du Sac meeting was the last for Cheryl Sherman, long-time Village President of Prairie du Sac, who is stepping down after serving the village for 40 years, 32 of those on the village board. She has been Village President since 1995.

Village of Black Earth purchases street sweeper

After years of negotiating with Cross Plains over the use of their street sweeper, Black Earth has bought their own unit to keep the streets clean. The board voted unanimously at their April 11 meeting to purchase a 2012 Elgin Pelican NS model for $137,000.

Village of Arena waives field fees for River Valley Little League

River Valley Little League (RVLL) will not have to pay to play on the ball field in Arena, the village board decided at their meeting in March. Brandon Willey, representing RVLL, said that there will be three Arena teams this year including fifth and eighth grade boys and fourth grade girls softball.
