The agenda for the March 14th Village of Mazomanie’s meeting included updates to civil rights protections for residents, including prohibiting the use of excessive force on peaceful demonstrators.

Sauk Prairie governments update Comprehensive Plan

The villages of Prairie du Sac and Sauk City as well as the township of Prairie du Sac had a rare joint meeting at the beginning of March connected three-ways with video. They met to approve amendments to the Sauk Prairie Comprehensive Plan.

Prairie du Sac adjusts ordinance concerning wine bottles

The Prairie du Sac board, at their February 28th meeting, approved a clarification to an ordinance that dictates what glass containers are allowed in parks. Village Administrator Alan Wildman explained:

Construction in Village of Arena to last through the year

Construction projects will be undertaken in the Village of Arena this year, the village board decided at their February meeting.

Mazomanie holds public hearings on current streambank project and potential utility repair

The Village of Mazomanie held two public hearings at it’s February 14th meeting. Although the public didn’t attend, the board and those present got updates on the current Black Earth Creek riverbank restoration project and a proposed utilities improvement to West Hudson Street.

Black Earth awarded DNR matching grant for $100,000

The Village of Black Earth will be updating its software, giving newly promoted Clerk/Treasurer Dani Fields and the board the ability to look at individual invoices and peer closely into the village’s finances. The software upgrade will cost roughly $11,000, and training for staff will come in at $6,000.

Sauk City prepares to borrow for projects

A proposed driving range in Sauk City is poised to go forward, pending approval of the village board. The Plan Commission approved the rezoning at their meeting and the board will take it up in two weeks.

Prairie du Sac board sees early designs for new village hall

The Village Board of Prairie du Sac reviewed initial plans for their village hall remodel and expansion at their meeting last week. The proposed layout presented to the board is an early sketch, and was brought before them to “make sure we’re on the right track,” according to Village Administrator Alan Wildman.

Mazomanie to purchase new mowers, build concession stand

The Village of Mazomanie had a productive village board meeting last week, approving the purchase of new mowers, as well as the demolition and replacement of a storage shed.
