Mazomanie’s Marissa Bode to take on a starring role in “Wicked”

As local residents head out to the movie theaters to see the film adaptation of “Wicked” on opening night next week, Mazomanie resident and Wisconsin Heights graduate Marissa Bode will be at the L.A. version of “Shiz University” with her co-stars. Bode, now based in Los Angeles, made her feature film debut in “Wicked”.

Wright named Administrator of the Year

Sauk Prairie School District Superintendent Jeff Wright was honored last weekend at the Wisconsin Rural Schools Alliance Annual Conference as the “Administrator of the Year.” Wright was nominated by Sauk Prairie School Board President James Isaacson and retired Dodgeville School District Superintendent Jeff Jacobson.

Citizens Group files claim over Sauk County Health Care Center sale

A citizens group has brought a claim against the Sauk County Board of Supervisors over the sale of the Sauk County Health Care Center in Reedsburg.

On Sunday, Citizens for the Sauk County Health Care Center announced via social media that its attorney had filed the claim on Oct. 31.

Senator Tammy Baldwin facing several challengers in race

Democrat Tammy Baldwin will have some competition this fall.

Baldwin, who has been a senator since 2013, is running against Republican challenger Eric Hovde. Also on the ballot are Phil Anderson of the Libertarian Party and Thomas Leager of the America First Party.

The General Election is Nov. 5.

Representative Mark Pocan faces familiar foe in reelection bid

United States Representative for Wisconsin’s 2nd Congressional District Mark Pocan faces a familiar foe in his reelection bid, facing challenger Erik Olsen. In 2022 Pocan beat Olsen 71 to 29 percent. Prior to that, Pocan topped Peter Theron in a blowout contest, 70 to 30 percent.
