Wisconsin sharing Driver’s License info with other states

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is the first DMV, nationwide, to update its data system to enable the electronic sharing of all driver records with other states. The innovative process, launched April 10, modernizes Wisconsin’s system from paper to all electronic.

Cardinal-Hickory price tag jumps by $50 million

It was revealed last Friday that the cost of the Cardinal-Hickory Creek 345-kilovolt transmission line has ballooned by millions of dollars thanks to inflation and costs associated with the ongoing battle over the project. Officer Josh Sherman is new Sauk Prairie Chief of Police

The Sauk Prairie Police Commission named Officer Josh Sherman the new Chief of Police at their meeting last week, ending their search to replace former Chief Jerry Strunz, who retired in December. Sherman is a twenty-three-year veteran of the force.

Avian Flu found in Sauk County; 11th county total

The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) identified cases of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) in backyard flocks in Sauk county last week. Birds are being depopulated to prevent spread of the disease. 

No combined Mazomanie and Black Earth police department

The Village of Black Earth recently asked neighboring Mazomanie if they were interested in a joint police department. This information came out at the April 26 Mazomanie village board meeting.
