The Wisconsin Department of Transportation Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is the first DMV, nationwide, to update its data system to enable the electronic sharing of all driver records with other states. The innovative process, launched April 10, modernizes Wisconsin’s system from paper to all electronic.

The Sauk Prairie Police Commission named Officer Josh Sherman the new Chief of Police at their meeting last week, ending their search to replace former Chief Jerry Strunz, who retired in December. Sherman is a twenty-three-year veteran of the force.

When contacted by the Star News, Sherman had this to say: 

The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) identified cases of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) in backyard flocks in Sauk county last week. Birds are being depopulated to prevent spread of the disease.
