Fire in Township of Troy put out by Sauk City Fire with assistance

At 2:44 p.m. on February 14, 2023, Sauk City Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched along with Prairie du Sac Fire, Merrimac Fire and Sauk Prairie Ambulance as auto aid to a residence on Schauer Road in the Township of Troy for a reported structure fire.

Abandoned but not forgotten: Dogs of Chernobyl thrive in new environment


The paint on their nose is a temporary hair dye used this last time to indicate that they were recently spayed and neutered. Instead of putting ear tags in their ear. The hair dye washes off after four weeks. The tags were becoming problematic in some dogs and we ended up removing a lot of them. So I used the hair dye this past campaign. They also have a ear tattoo, a belly tattoo and a microchip.

“Everyone up and left, but they left their dogs and cats. The first few days I went around pouring milk for all the cats, and I’d give the dogs a piece of bread. They were standing in their yards waiting for their masters. They waited a long time.” 

  

Resolution calling for more testing at Badger gains support

A resolution by the Badger Restoration Advisory Board members calling on the DNR to do more testing at the site of the former Army Ammunition Plant has gained momentum recently, with both the Village of Prairie du Sac and State Representative Dave Considine signing on.

At least according to every parent seeking it, with 9-12 month wait lists, and according to an interested group of Sauk Prairie residents who have been looking for a potential solution.
