Wood ducks have returned from their wintering grounds in far southeast United States.

Even though spring is the breeding and nesting season some birds begin displaying in autumn.

The best time for seeing a drake wood duck in colorful plumage is March and April.

The National Farmers Union held its convention March 9-11 in Oklahoma City. Among the participants were members of the Wisconsin Farmers Union.
Hundreds of farmers and ranchers from across the country convened to discuss issues, talk about group policies and present recognition.

Law enforcement seeks tips on inmate who walked off job

The Department of Corrections is looking for an inmate who walked away from work at a restaurant.

According to the DOC, Kirstie Pienta, 34, who was held at the Milwaukee Women’s Correctional Center, left the unnamed restaurant at 11 a.m. last Thursday. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact law enforcement.
