Sauk Summer School Students use cyanotype in science fun

Afternoon Magic, part of the Sauk Prairie Summer School program, has made “space” it’s theme this summer. Students used the sun to make a life-size cyanotype, which is a type of photography. They planned and then executed an image on the fabric with a 10 minute exposure. Their cyanotype shows students (who had to lie in the sun in total stillness) reaching towards the sun with rockets, moons, planets, and handprints in the background.

Sauk Prairie musical will be ‘Big Fish’

65 Sauk Prairie High School students are participating in our annual musical, Big Fish, June 15-18. This fantastical tale was first a book penned by Daniel Wallace in 1998, Big Fish was then adapted to the screen by Tim Burton in 2003 and later a full-stage musical in 2013 with words by John August and Music by Andrew Lippa. Since our first rehearsal in early April, our students have explored the world created by Edward Bloom, a traveling salesman trying to stay connected to his young son through tall tales. Come see what all of that hard work has created! Tickets available at www.riverartsinc.org or at the door on day of show!
