Former Sauk Prairie School District superintendent Cliff Thompson retired at the end of June after 28 years of service to the district and community.

Sauk Prairie School District transparency issues continue

The Sauk Prairie School District complied with the Star News’ public records request 13 days after it was filed, for documents concerning the June 22 board meeting. The documents were received on July 6. The Star News sought the same documents board members receive for each meeting.

The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) on Monday released an 87-page document intended to help guide a return to in-person schooling this fall.

Sauk Prairie School District refuses to hand over public documents

The Sauk Prairie School District is refusing to release a copy of its Crisis Manual, or Continuity of Organizational Operations Plan, to the Star News. The manual was approved by the board at their May 8 meeting. The manual is a public document, and the public and press are entitled to a copy, per state statute.
