Eagles’ co-op hockey team drops a pair

Sauk Prairie’s co-op hockey team — which includes Mount Horeb, Barneveld, Wisconsin Heights and River Valley — dropped a pair of games last week.

The Eagles fell to McFarland, 3-2, on Dec. 10. Sauk Prairie then dropped a 3-2 decision to South Central last Saturday.

Sauk/Heights wrestlers roll

The Sauk Prairie/Wisconsin Heights wrestlers defeated Mount Horeb, 54-30, in a dual meet last Friday,

The Eagles got pins from Logan McIntyre at 215 pounds, Curtis Hankins (heavyweight), Mitch Ziegler (132) and Griffin Fritsch (150).

Sauk Prairie’s boys lose two of three

It was a tough week for Sauk Prairie’s boys basketball team, which dropped two of three games.

The Eagles defeated Reedsburg, 62-53, on Dec. 10. La Crosse Central downed Sauk Prairie, 60-48, on Dec. 12. Then McFarland edged the Eagles, 54-52, last Saturday.

Sauk Prairie is now 3-3 overall and 1-1 in the Badger Small Conference.

Capitol South Conference Boys Basketball Preview

T-3. Cambridge 5-5 (10-15 overall)

Heights girls fall to Lodi

Wisconsin Heights’ girls basketball team felt awfully good after jumping to a 3-1 start this season.

But the Vanguards had a rough go of it and dropped a 61-32 decision to Lodi on Dec. 13.

Lodi raced to a 42-11 lead and maintained a comfortable lead the entire second half.

Heights fell to 3-2 overall.

Sauk/Heights swimmers second at Badger Relays

The Sauk Prairie/Wisconsin Heights boys swimming team finished in second place at the Badger Small Conference Relays on Dec. 10.

McFarland won the team title with 138 points, while the Eagles were second with 88 points. Edgewood (72), Stoughton (68), Baraboo (58) and Mount Horeb rounded out the field.

Wisconsin Heights’ boys basketball team dropped two of three games last week.

Richland Center defeated the Vanguards, 50-42, on Dec. 9. Heights rebounded to down St. Ambrose Academy, 64-48, on Dec. 10.

Lodi then toppled the Vanguards, 74-33, last Friday.

Heights is now 1-3 on the young season.

The Eagles defeated River Valley, 62-47, on Dec. 10. Sauk Prairie then dropped a 43-37 overtime decision at Mount Horeb last Friday.

Sauk Prairie’s girls gymnastics team enjoyed a sensational 2023-2024 season.
