Eagles capture their own invite


Sauk Prairie’s girls volleyball team won the championship at their own invitational last Saturday.

Sauk Prairie’s girls volleyball team hosted their own invite last Saturday.

And the Eagles made sure no one had as much fun as the hosts themselves.

Sauk Prairie went a perfect 7-0 on the day and rolled to the championship.

The Eagles defeated Reedsburg, 25-19, 25-10, in the title match.

Soccer Eagles split two games

Sauk Prairie’s boys soccer team split a pair of games last week. 

The Eagles dropped a 2-0 decision to DeForest on Sept. 5. Sauk Prairie then rolled past Reedsburg, 8-0, on Sept. 8.

Heights spikers compete at Middleton

MIDDLETON – Sophomore libero Maya Luko did her best Energizer Bunny impression last Saturday afternoon.

If she wasn’t diving to the floor on defense, she was pumping up her Wisconsin Heights teammates with her boundless energy and infectious smile.

MH-B pulls away from Eagles

MOUNT HOREB — Unfortunately for the Sauk Prairie football team, the game lasts 48 minutes.

If it only lasted 24, the Eagles would have one of the biggest upsets in the state this season to their credit.

Sauk Prairie swimmers fifth at Badger Small meet

Sauk Prairie’s girls swimming team finished fifth at the first Badger Small Conference meet of the season.

Madison Edgewood won the meet with 210 points, while the Eagles finished with 104 points.

Eagles’ soccer team has big week

Sauk Prairie’s boys soccer team went 1-0-1 last week.

• Sauk Prairie 2, Stoughton 0 — Cris Quedada Godoy and Angel Ibbara both had goals to lead the Eagles past the Vikings on Aug. 29. Keeper Thiago Viera added eight saves for the Eagles.

Sauk Prairie runners shine at DeForest Invite

Sauk Prairie’s girls cross country team finished in third place at the eight-team DeForest Invite on Aug. 30. The Eagles’ boys were fifth.

Waunakee won the girls’ race with 23 points, while DeForest (65), Sauk Prairie (67), Beaver Dam (90) and Baraboo (133) rounded out the top five.

Reedsburg topples Eagles’ spikers

Surprise, surprise.

Sauk Prairie’s girls volleyball team, which won the Badger Conference last year and began this season by winning the Edgerton Invite, dropped its conference-opener on Aug. 29.

Visiting Reedsburg came to Sauk Prairie High School and downed the Eagles, 

26-24, 25-18, 25-23.

Heights boys XC team 7th

The Wisconsin Heights/Barneveld boys cross country team finished in seventh place at the Darlington Invite last Saturday.

Fennimore won the race with 45 points, while the Vanguards had 197.

Heights soccer team aims for growth

The Wisconsin Heights/Barneveld co-op boys soccer team is off to a 1-4 start.

“We’re a young team in the middle of the rebuilding process,” Vanguards’ coach Tommy Lancaster said. “We have the talent to score goals and we’re working on the discipline and organization needed to defend better.”
