Bring on the playoffs

Quinn Payne (top), Jacob Brabender (right) and Mazomanie’s Home Talent League team finished the regular season 6-6 and earned the No. 7 seed in the Northern Section playoffs.

The Mustangs will open the playoffs at second-seeded Ashton Sunday at 1 p.m.

Twins end regular season with a win

The regular season went about as well as anyone could have imagined.

Now, Sauk Prairie’s Home Talent League team is hoping for similar success in the postseason.

End of an era for Bombers

CROSS PLAINS — Black Earth manager Eric Duhr was hoping his Bombers could extend their Home Talent League amateur baseball season at least one more game last Sunday for two reasons.

Twins clinch No. 1 seed

ASHTON – Heading in the weekend, the Sauk Prairie Twins were in position to determine their own destiny in the upcoming Home Talent League Northern Section playoffs.

First, the Twins needed to win a road game at Ashton on Saturday — a makeup game from May 26 that was postponed due to inclement weather.

Apel named all-American

The awards keep rolling in for Erelyn Apel.

Apel, a 2024 Sauk Prairie graduate and a standout soccer player, was named an All-American by the United Soccer Coaches. Apel was also named first-team all-state by the Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association.

Twins stay atop Northern Section

Sauk Prairie’s Home Talent League team swept a pair of games last weekend and stayed atop the Northern Section.

The Twins defeated Mazomanie, 6-3, on Saturday, then edged Black Earth, 5-4, on Sunday.

Sauk Prairie's 'Best of the Best'

It was another exciting year for Sauk Prairie’s boys’ sports teams during a stellar 2023-24 school year.

Brason Ballweg (football, wrestling, baseball), Connor Breunig (football, basketball, golf), and Jackson Breunig (football, basketball, baseball) all finished their prep careers as 12-season athletes.
