Track teams enjoy big weeks

It was another big week for Sauk Prairie’s track and field teams.

Both Eagles’ teams finished second at the Sauk Prairie Quad on May 2. Then last Friday, the Eagles’ girls finished second and the boys were fifth at the Wisconsin Rapids Invite.

Baseball Eagles split a pair

Sauk Prairie’s baseball team split a pair of games last week.

The Eagles fell to Oregon, 5-4, on May 2. Sauk Prairie then defeated Tomah, 7-0, on May 5.

Eagles’ soccer team shines in setback

Sauk Prairie’s girls soccer team rolled to a pair of easy wins over Monroe and Baraboo last week.

But it was actually a defeat — yes, a defeat — that had Eagles’ coach Drew Kornish more fired up about his team than he’s been all season.

Eagles’ tennis team on a roll

It took Sauk Prairie’s boys tennis team more than half the season to notch its first win.

Now, the Eagles are red hot.

Sauk Prairie defeated Portage, 4-3, on May 1. Just 24 hours later, the Eagles toppled Reedsburg, 5-2.

It was a rough week for Wisconsin Heights’ baseball team.

The Vanguards dropped three straight games and fell to 4-5 overall and 2-2 in the Capitol South Conference.
